Muzeum w Bochni zorganizowało zwiedzanie z przewodnikiem kirkutu żydowskiego na wzgórzu Krzeczków, normalnie cmentarz jest zamknięty, więc była to spora okazja, żeby cmentarz odwiedzić. Na cmentarzu żydowskim założonym w 1872 roku znajduję się kwatera wojenna z okresu I wojny oznaczona nr 313. Na cmentarzu wojennym pochowano żołnierzy wyznania mojżeszowego zmarłych w Bochni w różnych okresach wojny.

Po cmentarzu oprowadzała zebranych pani Iwona Zawidzka, która podczas prawie półtora godzinnego spaceru pokazała nam najciekawsze nagrobki na cmentarzu opowiadając niejednokrotnie historię życia i śmierci osób tam pochowanych. Kirkut żydowski w Bochni został otwarty w roku 1872, pierwsze zachowane nagrobki pochodzą z 1873 r. Wcześniej bocheńscy żydzi wozili swoich zmarłych na cmentarz w Nowym Wiśniczu, ale w tych latach panowała zaraza i przepisy sanitarne zabraniały przewożenia zwłok, powstał więc cmentarz w Bochni. Ostatni pochówek na tym cmentarzu miał miejsce w czerwcu 1945 r. ale na terenie kirkutu znajdziemy też groby nowsze, często odtworzone bo część macew została zniszczona i wywieziona poza cmentarz o okresie II wojny światowej. W wielu miejscach cmentarza stoją więc jednakowe betonowe płyty z krzyżem Dawida, które postawiono w miejsce tych wywiezionych. Na samym kirkucie jest wiele zabytkowych grobów z bogata symboliką, która co ciekawe dość rzadko nawiązuje do gwiazdy Dawida z która kojarzą się nam Żydzi.
